Finite Element Analysis
Finite Element Analysis (FEA) is a useful tool when a structure has complex geometry, unusual load and boundary conditions. FEA helps engineers to create a more economical and faster analysis where the solution cannot be obtained from closed form equations.
FEA uses a system of elements called nodes, which make a grid, called the mesh. The mesh is programmed to contain the material and structural properties, which define how the structure will react to certain loading conditions. Mesh generation process divides a complex problem into small elements.
Adesol has great experience in solving complicated problems using FEA. We can deliver cost effective solutions for many different types of structures such as slabs with large openings, irregular shaped raft foundations, structural steel members with complicated geometry, tunnel connections etc. We can also use FEA succesfully to examine and predict the impacts of stress on structures induced from footfall vibration, earthquakes and other dynamic loads using both linear and non-linear analysis options.
